Phonics/Reading (Read Write Inc): Your child will learn our RWInc sounds during daily phonics lessons. We will work on blending the letters together to read words. Reading books will come home on a Friday, please can you practise the reading book with your child. Please can all books be returned by Wednesday at the latest.

PE day:
Wednesday - please ensure that your child is dressed in suitable clothing for P. E (leggings, joggers, t-shirt, trainers) and also for the weather as some lessons will take place outdoors.

If you would like your child to have a snack at morning play, as a school we encourage healthy eating and the children can bring fruit. The children are also allowed to bring a water bottle, again as a healthy school the children are encouraged to have water.

Autumn term

Our topics this term are: Where can a book take you?

Our book this term is The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig

At the start of the term our main priorities are settling the children and getting them confident with a new environment and routines.

This term we will be comparing our new book to the story of The Three Little Pigs. We will be studying the artist Picasso and making our very own Pigcasso pictures.

In the second half term our book will be The Snail and the Whale. We will be looking at how to care for our environment and design a shoe for the snail.
